Tongue Control System – Technology Platform

As a company involved in the development of welfare and rehabilitation technologies and products, Aalborg University can offer you a unique technology platform that potentially could broaden the user groups of your technology or product. In 2006 at Aalborg University, Associate Professor Lotte Struijk invented the Tongue Control System. The Tongue Control System basically provides the user with the functionality of a wireless keyboard and mouse/joystick. Initially this system was aimed at severely disabled persons, allowing for control of computers (keyboard and mouse) and environmental control (e.g. doors, windows etc.). |

This novel platform can however be implemented as control system for basically everything. Therefore several research projects are looking into other applications of the tongue control system. Among these are control of a wheelchair and control of robotic/prosthetic arms and hands.
