Aim:
- To study pain/motor dysfunction specifically related to the orofacial region

Main Research Areas:
- The study of jaw reflexes during various pain and non-pain conditions
- Trigeminal-cervical nociceptive afferents and reflex circuits interaction in humans
- Studies on diffuse noxious inhibitory controls (DNIC) mechanisms

Aim:
- To develop new experimental methods to evoke and assess visceral pain in volunteers and patients to gain more insight into the visceral pain system

- Developing methods to evoke pain from the human gastrointestinal tract in healthy subjects
- Multimodal pain stimulation studies of chronic visceral pain patients
- Development of methods to screen the effect of analgesic compounds on visceral pain

- Development of robust techniques to assess parameters related to deep tissue pain
- The effect of deep-tissue pain on motor control
